In 2011 Ascension began to support one of the original students of the Hogar Llanero, Benicia Silva, in her dream of going to University. We first met Benicia at the Hogar Llanero in 2009. Ascension sponsored Benicia to attend University in Tunja. Benicia graduated in 2016 with a degree in Physical Education with her thesis in Physical Activity for Seniors. When Benicia finished her degree she worked with the municipality of Paz de Ariporo, leading physical activities for children.
